THERMAL BATHSPsoriasis
Scientific evidence proves that the thermal therapy of Comano is effective in the treatment of psoriasis: crenotherapy yields significant results, especially in terms of scale removal and in the reduction of infiltrates and skin lesions after 20-25 baths. Further benefits can be achieved in the long term, particularly where thermal baths are used in conjunction with selective phototherapy.
Skin allergies
The outcome of specific tests showed that the water of Comano provides a totally natural “antiallergic” effect.
Ichthyosis and keratosis
A few baths are enough to cure these disorders, as they have a positive effect on both the disease and the appearance of the skin.
Nettle-rash
Thanks to the waters of Comano, nettle rash tends to improve and indeed often disappear, with no need for medicines. Similar results have also been obtained with seborrheic dermatitis, acne rosacea, lichen ruber planus, neurodermatitis and prurigo.
Eczemas
Given its neutral Ph, its exceptional buffer effect and calcium and magnesium content, the water of Comano is the only one in Italy that cleanses the skin in depth, soothing itching, combating inflammation and stimulating the regeneration of skin tissues.
Atopic dermatitis
The water of Comano is particularly effective in treating atopic dermatitis. Every year thousands of children, even very young, come to Comano to find a natural solution that is free from side effects. In most cases, complete clinical remission of the dermatitis and itch is achieved, with no need for pharmacological therapies. The ideal treatment includes from 12 to 15 baths over a two week period.
INHALATIONS
Aerosol
Once atomised, the water of Comano has a beneficial anti-inflammatory effect on the respiratory tracts. Aerosol treatments last for ten minutes and are recommended for sinusitis and chronic or recurring tracheobronchitis. The water of Comano is also employed for micronised nasal showers and pulmonary ventilations.
Steam inhalations
This therapy is recommended to treat diseases of the upper respiratory tracts, such as nose, throat and vocal cords; the patient inhales 100 ml of spa water. Treatments are performed once or twice a day for around two weeks.
Pulmonary ventilation
This ventilation method, using intermittent positive pressure, is based on a complex device able to release strong air flows with varying pressure, so as to modulate breathing and control its frequency and depth. This device allows for the spa water, in the form of aerosol, enriched with oxygen and finely atomised, to reach the deepest parts of the respiratory tracts.
HYDROMASSAGES AND OTHER TREATMENTS
Hydromassages
Hydromassage combines the qualities of the water of Comano with the benefits of a deep massage that reinvigorates and oxygenates the tissues. It is particularly recommended for the most common circulatory disorders, such as varicose veins, as well as venous and lymphatic failure of the lower limbs. In addition, the water of Comano is employed for anti-inflammatory irrigations.
Hydropinic treatment
The spa water of Comano is a very light drink, yet it is rich in elements such as calcium, magnesium and fluorine. It has a diuretic and detoxing effect and is recommended for sufferers of a variety of disorders: gout, nephrolithiasis, inflammations of the urinary tracts, dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome and constipation.
Vaginal irrigations
The spa water of Comano has a cleansing, anti-inflammatory and soothing effect. Thus, it is recommended for inflammatory disorders of the female reproductive system and helps restore the normal functioning of the mucosa and skin. Positive results can be achieved for cases of vaginitis, vulvovaginitis, painful sclerosis of the pelvic connective tissue, recurrent leucorrhoea, other kinds of syndromes and after-effects of surgical operations. It is particularly suitable for treating, and especially preventing, painful and recurrent symptoms related to menopause such as: tingling, itching, dry mucosa, pain during sexual intercourse, etc. The treatment consists of slowly irrigating (about 15 minutes) 5 litres of thermal water of Comano by inserting a disposable vaginal cannula into the vagina. This procedure is painless and non-traumatic and is performed in compliance with all the hygiene regulations in force.
