How to benefit from these treatments

Terme di Comano has a special agreement with the National Health Service, which undertakes to bear all medical expenses for the thermal treatments. Similarly, INAIL (the Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work) bears all expenses for the treatment of occupational diseases acknowledged and certified by the relevant office.

Thus, to benefit from the thermal treatments, all patients have to go to the Spa with a prescription from their family doctor, written on the official region pad, together with their health card and tax code.

The prescription must specify the diagnosis corresponding to one of the pathologies for which treatment is authorised by the Ministerial Decree of 15.12.94 and the related course of treatments to be applied.

Every Italian citizen is entitled to one course of treatments only per year (even for different types/disorders). The sole exceptions are disabled servicemen, individuals disabled while serving their country, blind civilians, deaf and dumb people and civilian disabled with more than 66% invalidity.

SHARING THE EXPENSES

All citizens have to pay a contribution of €50.00.

The following categories are exempt from this and only have to pay the sum for the recipe, amounting to €3.10:

  • citizens under 6 and over 65 with a family income of up to €36,151.98;

  • recipients of a minimum pension over 60, with dependent relatives and with an income lower than €8,263.31 (or €11,362.05 if there is a spouse);

  • people exempted as sufferers of a particular pathology - the prescription must report the type and the exemption number.
